I think the script was started by a guy that I don't know named Harry Yu and later picked up by another guy here on the forums who did a pretty good job rewriting the script named Mark Edwards, haven't seen him on the forums in a few years so not sure if he is still around. Just giving credit where it is due because I have a terrible, I mean a very terrible pet peeve about people taking credit for something that someone else did. Matter of fact, a Blender match move was my first post on this thread that I started way back in 2011 so I think maybe only a few power users on this forum know about it, and that is a big maybe. If you know your camera info, you simply match move or manually animate the camera and input your camera settings, if you don't know your settings Blender will calculate a pretty close solution for your match move and export it to HitFilm Pro. I have a script/almost an addon that exports a Blender camera into HitFilm with "everything" correctly set up. If you're familiar with Blender at all or would like to be, continue reading, if not then do not keep reading.

How do I effectively attach the virtual camera to a "track" of the physical camera, so it does this automatically without guessing at positioning the camera with keyframes and simulating where the real camera was?Īknittel What software do you use to match move cameras? That is, it should scale appropriately as though it were receding into the frame as I got further away from it with the camera. In this case, I not only want that, but I want to simulate the apparent perspective as the camera moved by the object with the actress. I've done successful camera tracks in HitFilm before (not Mocha), but the idea in those cases was to attach the object to the scene and keep it fixed in place no matter how the camera moved. The object is stationary, but the camera is not and the actor is not. I have footage with an actor moving in relation to a 3d object I've loaded in HitFilm. The camera was on a Steadicam with the actor in frame, and the idea was to have her walk past the object. I have question about trying to match move a HitFilm virtual camera with the one I used with my footage.
